Natasha and Trey

Hello Friends and Family,

Trey and Natasha are here to share about our topics. We are both learning about animals that live in the rainforest. Trey is researching the orangutan and Natasha is studying the tapir.

Natasha thinks it is a cool fact that the tapirs look like watermelons with legs.

Trey found out that orangutans hold a leaf over their head when it rains.

Our animals are both endangered. This means that they are becoming extinct.
Here are some ways you can help...

  1. Don't cut down trees from the rainforest. If you do, please plant new ones.
  2. Don't hunt endangered species for fur, food or money.
  3. Give money to people who are helping the rainforest.

Do you have any other ideas on how we can help the rainforest? Let us know!
We hope you are liking our blog and learning more about the rainforest.
See you next time!
Natasha and Trey

  1. These are both really neat, intelligent animals you are studying. Since the trees of the rainforest are often used for things like paper products, I wonder if we can help by encouraging all our friends to buy our school supplies next year from recycled products? DO you think the recycling we do at Friends Academy helps companies cut down fewer trees? I think communicating through a blog, the way you are doing, instead of sending home a newsletter made of paper, is also a big help - GREAT JOB!!
